DasNet Expands its Presence in Asia

Opening Office in Japan

DasNet announced the opening of its office in Japan, today, to supplement its headquarters in New York, branch/satellite offices in Georgia, Texas, New Mexico, California, and Washington, and foreign offices in Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia and South Korea. The new office will be located in the American Village in Okinawa. The Japan office will allow DasNet to provide supplementary access to the Marines, Air Force, and Army components in need of its engineering services. DasNet has been performing efforts in Japan for several years; however, its new legal position will allow it to perform more effectively within the local market.

The new office will be located in the Hoffman Complex in Alexandria, Virginia near the Army’s Human Resource Command (HRC). GSA awards $750 million SATCOM contract

SATCOM-II replaces GSA’s existing satellite services contract

The General Services Administration tapped 24 communications companies to provide satellite services under its five-year, $750 million SATCOM II contract. The winning companies, including nine small businesses, were announced May 2. The new contract will offer the Defense Department and civilian agencies global communications services such as mobile communications, Internet access, broadcasting, distance learning and emergency response support, said John Johnson, assistant commissioner for GSA’s Integrated Technology Service.

Alliant taps 72 companies

$15B vehicle opens for business this month

After a delay of more than a year, the Alliant Small Business contract gets under way this month. The companies holding spots on the vehicle will now compete for task orders after they make final certifications to the General Services Administration that they are indeed small businesses. The $15 billion contract has a five-year base period and five additional option years. There also will be opportunities for new small businesses to be added. The MACC is a multiple award, IDIQ construction acquisition to conduct work efforts to be performed in the following Afghanistan provinces: Kandahar, Helmand, Nimroz, Farah, Day Kundi, Uruzgan, and Zabul. The MACC is a five-year contract and has a total contract value of more than $90 million.

DasNet Awarded Navy Seaport-e Contract

SeaPort-e is the Navy's electronic platform for acquiring support services

DasNet today announced that it has been awarded a prime contract by the NAVSEA Warfare Center, which established the Seaport Enhanced (Seaport-e) Multiple Award Contract (MAC) vehicle as a web-based, e-business procurement Portal, to facilitate performance-based service acquisition, leverage buying power, improve business intelligence and reduce cycle time. The multiple award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract has a five-year base period of performance and five one-year options. Seaport-e has a total contract value of more than $19 Billion, if all options are exercised.
